"A hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a Child" ~ Anonymous

"The Balinese people are all so friendly. They don’t care about the brand of your clothing or about the color of your skin; they just take you how you are."
My Bali Adventure
After 18 hours flight we finally arrived at Bali Airport. It was already dark. So we couldn’t see much about Denpasar. It was very hot because of the tropical clima. Mr. Agung the founder of the school and his nephew took us from the airport to a nice little restaurant. There we could eat with hands. That was funny.
After this great meal they took us to Keramas. This is the village where the school is located. There Wayan, the driver of the school took our luggage and showed us our bungalow. We also saw our first geckos. My sister, my brother and I gave them names. After that we just fell in our beds and slept.
The next day I opened my eyes and saw a lot of new things: interesting plants, many rice fields and the beautiful Indian Ocean. After I had looked around at everything I went to the big classroom and met two Indonesian guys called Tomy and Kemal. Tomy was from Keramas and helped at the school, in the kitchen and in the big garden. They were really friendly with me and invited me to play in their band for the Slukat Learning Center talent show on the next day. I was really happy to find friends so fast. I felt good. The Balinese people are all so friendly. They don’t care about the brand of your clothing or about the color of your skin; they just take you how you are.

The system of Slukat is easy. In the morning you can prepare your lessons or go surfing. Some volunteers go to the market to Gianyar. In the afternoon the students come and help in the garden or water the plants one hour before the lessons. At 3.30 the lessons begin until 6.30. It is like this from Monday to Thursday. During the weekend you can visit the beautiful island Bali.
I just can say: Thank you for 4 great weeks. I will never forget it.
